Authorized stays that match real life

Guest Authorization Records That Reflect Real Life

Guests are part of real life. The record should reflect real life too: family visits, temporary help, caregiving, longer authorized stays, and authorizations that later change.

Real life does not fit a simple guest box

Real life can involve family visiting, an adult child helping a parent, a caregiver, a friend staying temporarily, someone helping with maintenance, a guest receiving mail, a longer authorized stay, an authorization that later changes, or an overstay question after an authorization window ends.

Remembering that you told someone they could stay temporarily is not the same as a contemporaneously recorded authorization history. DocuStay preserves the authorization record and timeline so those facts do not have to depend on memory alone.

What a guest authorization record can include

Depending on the workflows you use, DocuStay can help preserve the shape of an authorized stay rather than only a one-time note: who authorized, who was authorized, for which property or unit, for what window, what acknowledgment existed, how the authorization changed, and what status followed.

  • Guest invitations and who authorized them
  • Authorization windows and expected end dates
  • Acceptance, acknowledgment, or signature where supported
  • Extensions, revocation, checkout, or other endings
  • Subsequent status, including confirmed or unconfirmed next states
  • Supporting agreement or related records where the workflow includes them
  • Historical preservation after the stay changes or ends
  • Scoped visibility so not every role sees every detail

Overstay context without legal shortcuts

When an authorization window ends and questions remain, a preserved timeline helps people review what was actually authorized, when it ended, and what changed. If the next status was never confirmed, that unconfirmed gap can stay part of the record instead of being filled in later from memory.

Legal status can depend on jurisdiction and circumstances. DocuStay records the facts and authorization history; it does not decide legal status, tenancy, or occupancy rights.

DocuStay provides property-status and authorization recordkeeping. It does not provide legal advice, eviction services, or determine legal occupancy rights.
